I don't have much to say in specific, but generally, I like to wear a lot of hats. My name is Capps, after all.
I do stuff. I work, I play, I ride, I drive, I think, I cook, I live, I love, I experiment, I remember, I explore, I build, and most importantly, I learn. I continually find that the best way to improve one's own ability is to diversify one's learning process. By starting with a clean slate on every project, it becomes easy to realize the larger picture, how all of the components fit together, and revel in the subtleties that ensue. If I weren't working with video, I'd wish to be composing music. The two artforms complement each other well and are built upon similar frameworks that foster precision and support very high capacities for personal creativity.
To the best of my knowledge, I fit every description of a workaholic, but I wouldn't have it any other way. If I'm not physically at work, I'm still tinkering with some project. My greatest source of entertainment is a final product of any variety; something tangible (physical or digital) and shareable. It gives me a personal benchmark of the will with each finished project.
As a result of this, I fight to maintain a veritable cornucopia of hobbies and interests and work to document and share the lessons I've learned along the way.
Let's not say that I can't be taught by others. I can, but I choose to allow myself to be my own teacher. Let's just say that I learn my lesson: every time. It's a fact of life: People change, they mature, and they move on from things, but you're always there for you. By relying on my own abilities versus depending solely on the presence of others, I am able to grow through any possible situation.
Just because I've grown accustomed to learning on my own, doesn't mean that I'm unable to work successfully in a group setting. Sometimes, a group working on a project is able to find a solution that one mind can't perceive. Working as a group allows us to learn about ourselves and how we deal with adversity. I enjoy the opportunity to work with people due to my social nature.
I'm unsure I can say that I prefer having improbable deadlines, but if you challenge me, I will do my best to blow your expectations out of the water. I like to say that when given a short deadline, you'll see my most honest work. Think about what your teacher said when you used to take tests: Answer the questions you know the answer to first and then go back for the remainder. I've been through many challenges, and I'm not about to stop enjoying a good one any time soon.
If it's interesting, I'm interested. Sometimes the smallest project can provide the largest reward. Taking yourself outside of your comfort zone can provide nothing but personal growth. The more you do so, the larger your comfort zone becomes until eventually, you find that you're comfortable in every possible situation that you may ever find yourself in. It's a nice feeling.
